Biography:

I hold a BFA with honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Experimental Theatre Wing (ETW), a Masters from Villanova University's Barrymore recognized theatre program, where I had the honor being Acting Scholar, and a PhD in Theatre from the University of Colorado at Boulder Department of Theatre and Dance. I am also conservatory trained in classical theatre from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London through NYU. I recently completed my dissertation with an emphasis on American avant-garde and site-specific/experimental theatre, entitled "Field of Mars Revisited: The Opera-Installation-Performance of GAle GAtes." I identify as a collaborator, performer, dramaturg and director on both the professional and collegiate level, and am specialized in compositional and somatic work with a primary interest in Viewpoints, script-analysis and improvisational pedagogy. I have had the pleasure of studying Body-Mind-Centering (BMC) under Wendell Beavers and Erika Berland; Grotowski under Steve Wangh and Raina von Waldenburg; Viewpoints under Wendell Beavers and Marie Overlie; , and contact improvisation under Paul Langland. I have also taken various workshops with Pig Iron Theatre Company and Ruth Zaporah, as well as vocal improvisation, Alexander Technique and Rasa Box Master Classes. As a director and performer, I am interested in the crossroads between dance, theatre, and digital media, as well as Butoh. I have taught on the university level for over seven years at both the University of the Virgin Islands and the University of Colorado at Boulder, and have performed throughout New York, Philadelphia, and with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.
