Joe Krienke is a free-lance teacher and performer based in Minnesota. He was on the core-faculty at The Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater from 2006-2014 where he was also a Dell'Arte Company Member, and served as Dell'Arte's Associate School Director. From 2001-2006 Joe was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mask Acting and Clown in the University of Missouri, Kansas City's MFA Actor training program. His subjects include Alexander Technique, Dramatic Acrobatics, Clown, Archery, and Devised Theater. He has toured nationally with San Francisco's New Pickle Circus, and Portland's Tears of Joy Theater. Recent original productions include Three Trees- a theatrical clown play created and performed with his performing partners of 20 years Stephanie Thompson and Lauren Wilson, as well as Between the Lines (2013) and Taken Away (2014) both pieces were research projects premiering at Dell'Arte International's Mad River Festival. Those productions gave birth to Uplift Physical Theater (www.uplifttheatre.com), a newly formed ensemble for which Joe is an Ensemble Adviser. Joe is the Drummer Emeritus for Oakland based punk band The Big Forgive, he can be heard on their debut EP Be Specific (thebigforgive.bandcamp.com). Joe is a certified teacher of the F.M. Alexander Technique and a member of Alexander Technique International.
