Joe Herrera is a Professional Actor, Acting Instructor, Acting Coach, High School Theatre Teacher, Director, Producer and Writer. He holds his M.A. in Theatre from Regent University, and is a graduate from the National Michael Chekhov Association; recognized as a Certified Acting Teacher of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, through the National Michael Chekhov Association (NMCA). He is a Member & Recognized Michael Chekhov Instructor of the Michael Chekhov Association (MICHA). Joe currently teaches the Michael Chekhov Technique at the Patel Conservatory for the Straz Performing Arts Center, in Tampa Bay.
As an actor he has professional experience in theatre, film/TV, and various media venues. He has worked with actors such as Lily Collins, Chace Crawford, Connie Nielsen, and Kevin Sorbo on various film projects.
As an acting instructor he is a physical theatre and movement specialist, teaching various psycho-physical techniques such as: Michael Chekhov, Laban Movement Analysis, Alba Emoting Method, Rasaboxes, and various body-mind-spirit pedagogies. He also teaches scene study using a fusion of Chekhov with Robert Cohen's G.O.T.E. method, Shakespeare, monologue work, auditioning for the actor for theatre and film, and acting for Film/TV.
Joe also has production experience in directing, producing, casting, stage composition, and production coaching (acting/scene work/characterization).
