Jess Prichard is an American actor and educator with a Master in Fine Arts degree in classical acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He studied at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Jess holds certificates in actor training from Moscow Art School Theatre and Portland Actors Conservatory. He is an Equity Membership Candidate (EMC) with the Actors Equity Association (AEA) and has worked for several American regional theatres including, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, the Great River Shakespeare Festival, Artists Repertory Theatre and Riverside Theatre among others. Jess was a touring company member of the Jacques Lecoq based mask theatre company, Imago Theatre. He has studied with various clowning teachers and has worked as a professional clown and street performer. Jess is a certified Alexander Technique teacher with the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) and maintains a private practice teaching the technique and Yoga. He is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) and certified in multiple weapons. Jess is a member of American Theatre Movement Educators (ATME) and a certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Jess is an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Journalism, Communication & Theatre Department at the City University of New York, Lehman College and has taught acting at universities and colleges in North America and Asia. Other institutions include California State University of Los Angeles, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, The Art College of Inner Mongolia University, Coe College, Cornell College, St. Ambrose University, Portland Actors Conservatory and in educational outreach programs for several American regional theatre companies. Jess was born in Los Angeles, California. He holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Lewis & Clark College. Outside of acting and teaching, Jess enjoys backpacking, finish carpentry and dog whispering.
