Marie Percy is an Assistant Professor in Residence in the University of Connecticut's Dramatic Arts Department. She teaches movement for actors in the MFA and BFA Acting programs. Her areas of teaching expertise include: Laban Movement Analysis, acrobatics, aerial dance, Growtowski, yoga, and the application of other movement pedagogies to actor development. She also works as a dance choreographer and movement coach for the Connecticut Repertory Theater. Marie received her MFA in Theater Pedagogy with an emphasis on movement from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a BA in theater from the University of Florida. She is a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) with the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies, and a 200 hour Certified Yoga Teacher. In addition to her formal education Marie was a nationally ranked competitive gymnast for twelve years.
