Matthew R. Wilson is a professional theatre artist, scholar, and instructor. He is an actor for screen and stage, a theatrical director, a combat choreographer, and an expert in Commedia dell’Arte. An accomplished teacher, he currently serves as Assistant Professor of Performance at the University of Mississippi. Matt has also been a guest artist/instructor at numerous universities and festivals in North America and Europe, including NYU, Columbia, Georgetown, Northwestern, and Antonio Fava's <em>Stage Internazionale</em>. Matt is the Founder and former Artistic Director of the award-winning Faction of Fools, DC’s Commedia dell’Arte theatre company. His doctoral research interests include Renaissance theatre, acting theory, mask, and comedy. He is also a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors’ Guild-American Federation of TV & Radio Artists, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and Association of Theatre Movement Educators, and he is a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors.
