Let's kick this list serve off --
Kate Meehan from La Fenice in Austin, Texas here.
We're scheming to do a handful of workshops over the next couple of years, two of which are somewhat experimental, so we're looking for some enthusiastic guinea pigs.
They are as follows:
A two week Commedia dell'Arte workshop that includes a week of devising with the characters (this is low hanging fruit for us), culminating in a public performance.
A one week devising workshop that is focused on multi-lingual, multi-cultural collaborative storytelling, which would culminate in a weekend of public performances. Our troupe returned with some fresh insight after a month-long program in Italy where we wound up leading each afternoon devising program with six languages in use. (looking for guinea pigs!)
A weekend retreat for mid-career movement instructors, where we dig in to our personal pedegogies as an opportunity separate our own work from the movement lineages to which we belong. This is also designed to form tight networks of movement educators that deeply understand each other's different movement backgrounds and pedagogies. (looking for guinea pigs!)
